Programme:
Zdeněk Fibich (1850–1900): Sonatina d minor op. 27 (1869))
Antonín Dvořák (1841–1904): Sonatina G major op. 100 (1893)
Bohuslav Martinů (1890–1959): Sonatina G major H. 262 (1937)
Petr Eben (1929–2007): Sonatina semplice (1955)

Antonín Dvořák´s Sonatina in G major op. 100 is known to almost all Czech violinists. Also, at least the first part of Zdeněk Fibich’s or Bohuslav Martinů’s Sonatina is often even played at music schools. With a concert performance of four sonatinas by famous Czech composers (Fibich, Dvořák, Martinů and Eben), we want to inspire and motivate pupils, students and music amateurs to whom these sonatinas were originally dedicated. At the same time, we want to prove that this beautiful repertoire for violin and piano is sometimes unjustly underestimated and is far from being only an instructive simple composition, but that it is also worth performing on concert stages.
